Talented outfielder Junior Lake was optioned to AAA Iowa despite having an excellent spring with the Cubs in Arizona. I think the Cubs made a real mistake with this move. Lake reminds me a lot of Alfonso Soriano and really needs at bats at the big league level. Do we really need to see any more of Ryan Sweeney? Lake was hitting .302 with 1 HR and 8 RBI's on the spring!
Joining Lake at AAA Iowa are RHP Brian Schlitter and LHP Zac Rosscup.
