May 14, 2015: The Chicago Cubs promoted OF Billy McKinney from High Class A Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League to Class AA Tennessee of the Southern League. McKinney was tearing up the Carolina League (.340-4 HR-25 RBI's in 29 games with Myrtle Beach.) McKinney was part of the trade that brought SS Addison Russell to the Cubs in July 2014 for pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammell. McKinney was voted #83 overall prospect in MLB by Baseball America in 2015 and was the former #1 draft picked of the Oakland A's in 2013 (#24 overall.)
