Maybe these Cubs are for real after all. To be honest, I thought the Cubs would be swept in the NLDS after Friday's 4-0 loss to St. Louis. I have been a Cub fan since 1968 and I have seen them choke so many times I can't even count them.
But maybe these Cubs are different. In the past, the Cubs would tease you by winning a bit before they pulled the rug out from under your feet. But this team actually got off the deck after any long time Cub expected them to disappear into the night.
The Cubs are still a long way from their ultimate goal and another Cub collapse is still possible. But for now, beating the St. Louis Cardinals is enough.
