Cubs Acquire Dexter Fowler From Astros For Valbuena & Straily

The Chicago Cubs acquired centerfielder Dexter Fowler from the Houston Astros from 3B Luis Valbuena and RHP Dan Straily on Monday. Fowler 28,  hit .276 with 8 HR and 35 RBI's for Houston in 2014 (he also drew 66 walks with 11 steals and 21 doubles.) Fowler is likely to be the Cubs leadoff man in 2015.

The Cubs gave up the solid 3B Luis Valbuena and RHP Dan Straily in the deal (neither of whom were in the team's long term plans.)
